Janet and I went as planned to the nurseries and playgroups in Middlewich, this is our tenth year of visiting the nurseries and playgroups!
On Monday 22nd January 2018 we went to:
Peter Pan Pre School
Middlewich Community Pre School
Rainbow Day Nursery Ltd
Early Learners Nursery
Tommy Thumbs at Cledford, 2 groups
We went to each nursery and pre school and we talked to the children about the importance of putting litter in the bin and the role of Middlewich Clean Team. We let them use our special crocodile junior litter pickers, these were just right for the youngsters to use to put litter into our bin. Then we sang our song which they all love to do, complete with actions, to the tune of Frere Jacques:
“See some litter, see some litter,
pick it up, pick it up,
put it in the bin, put it in the bin,
keep it clean, keep it clean”
We want to teach the children that litter belongs in the bin and not on the ground and we awarded an MCT sticker to each of them which we hope will be a reminder of our visit and our message.
